Community Associations
UnityPoint Health received a federal award from the Rural Health Care Pilot Program and the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) to support the deployment of broadband infrastructure, enhance and expand data centers, encourage sustainable adoption of broadband service, and develop and maintain a nationwide public map of broadband service capability and availability.
HealthNet connect and BHC, LC, both subsidiaries of UnityPoint Health, administered the federal funding to purchase new robust equipment, fiber telecommunication huts, and constructing fiber routes connecting the fiber network backbone to healthcare-related community anchor institutions (CAIs) and businesses. The purpose of these grants are to improve broadband access to these CAIs in rural underserved areas within the Midwest.
HealthNet connect and BHC, LC through its subsidiaries HNc Services and BroadNet connect (HNcBNc) has partnered with local leadership to build an operating network that closes any "digital divide" between rural and urban communities and will continue to expand the fiber optic network as new opportunities for growth are developed.
HNcBNc are dedicated to the communities in which we live, work and serve. These are a few of the associations we are involved in and/or work with:
- Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities
- Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA)
- American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)
- American Telemedicine Association (ATA)
- Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
- Technology Association of Iowa (TAI)
- Peoria, IL Chamber of Commerce
